Kekasih dalam Perspektif Seni Rupa

Hotel De Paviljoen Bandung kembali mengadakan Pameran Karya Seni. Lebih dari duapuluh seniman Kota Bandung turut ambil bagian.

Bandung merupakan kota yang ditumbuhkan oleh kesadaran pikiran dengan citra estetik. Begitu juga kecintaan warganya pada Kota Bandung tidak hanya sebatas geografi. Namun ada nilai-nilai kehidupan yang bermakna “kekasih” sebagai jiwa yang tumbuh didalam kehidupan “berkota”. Kali ini, para seniman Bandung mencoba mengajukan sebuah Kredo tentang “Kekasih dalam Perspektif Seni Rupa” sebagai bahan diskursus seni di bidang cinta-kasih pada sesama mahluk hidup.

Pada Pembukaan Pameran Karya Seni yang berlangsung pada tanggal 17 Februari lalu dan diskusi seni pada tanggal 18 Februari, Hotel De Paviljoen Bandung diberikan kehormatan untuk mengenalkan karya seni dari para seniman Kota Bandung yang sempat tidak mampu bergerak akibat pandemi.

Pameran Karya Seni yang akan berlangsung selama 2 bulan ini dibuka dengan doa mendalam dari Bapak H. Tedy Rusmawan, AT., M.M selaku Ketua DPRD Kota Bandung dan Bapak Umar yang merupakan tokoh seniman Bandung.

“Kota Bandung memiliki berbagai kegiatan seni, kegiatan ini menjadi bagiannya. Semoga kegiatan ini dapat menjadi kegiatan yang sukses dan berkah untuk setiap seniman yang ambil bagian di dalamnya.” Ungkap Bapak Ketua DPRD Kota Bandung.

Selain pameran, Hotel De Paviljoen Bandung beserta Art Braga dan Kurator, Bapak Rahmat Jabaril juga mempersiapkan beberapa workshop eksperimen seni yang akan disampaikan setiap akhir pekan, mulai dari bulan Maret mendatang. “Seni di Kota Bandung pasti bisa seperti dulu. Semoga Pameran Karya Seni ini mampu membangkitkan kembali semangat para seniman di Kota Bandung” Ujar Kang Umar kepada seniman Kota Bandung.

Hotel De Paviljoen Bandung ingin memberikan kontribusi kepada Kota Bandung untuk mengingat dan membudidayakan  budaya yang ada di Kota Bandung.

Hotel De Paviljoen Bandung menyambut pertambahan usia dengan berbagai kegiatan,mulai dari donor darah, bersih-bersih, hingga berbagi dengan Panti Asuhan.

Pada pertambahan usia yang jatuh pada tanggal 30 November 2022 lalu, Hotel De Paviljoen Bandung mengajak kita menjadi semakin bersyukur untuk setiap hal yang kita alami ditengah pandemi ini. Beberapa kegiatan telah dilakukan, salah satunya adalah kegiatan donor darah bersama tamu dan warga, yang telah terlaksana pada tanggal 21 November lalu. Setiap partisipasi sangat diapresiasi oleh setiap pihak.

Selain itu, Hotel De Paviljoen Bandung juga mengadakan kegiatan DPB Cleaning Day dengan harapan, bisa mengajak masyarakat sekitar untuk menjaga kebersihan tidak hanya di area terdekat kita tapi area dimana kita berada. Tidak hanya itu, ada pula kegiatan DPB Berbagi. Kegiatan ini mengajak karyawan mengumpulkan barang-barang layak pakai untuk disumbangkan bersama santunan dari manajemen Hotel De Paviljoen Bandung.

Factory Outlets

Visiting Bandung will never be the same without shopping in the famous Bandung Factory Outlet (FO). Factory outlets sell clothes for all ages: men, women and children in one store. Most of the factory outlets are scattered in Dago (Ir. H. Djuanda) street and Riau (L.L.R.E. Martadinata) street until Aceh street. Although these streets are adjacent, it is still a big area for you to wander around. You can also find Bandung FO in upper Sukajadi street until Setiabudhi street. More fashionable people like to go to Rumah Mode in Setiabudhi street. Nowadays, there are many factory outlets opened nearby.
Setiabudhi street is the main road to go to Lembang, or going down the street you will enter Cihampelas street. Cihampelas is famous for its jeans stores. You can find many things made of jeans here.

Souvenir Shops

Sin Sin. The location of this shop is at the first Bandung shopping arcade, Braga street. Sin Sin has been in souvenir business for a long time. It is always well known for selling high quality souvenirs. There are many kinds of souvenirs here: wooden statue, wooden carved name plate, paintings, silver products, wayang (Indonesian puppet), angklung, etc. Alternatively, there is a seller on the pedestrian walk in Braga street who also sells Sundanese souvenirs, but of course with lower quality.
Cupumanik at H. Akbar street, across Bandung railway station. The location is convenient if you come by train. It sells wayang golek (Sundanese puppet) among other souvenirs.
Souvenir Shop 39, Souvenir Shop 39 is one of the oldest gift shops in Bandung and sells a treasure trove of uniquely Indonesian gifts and novelties. The location is on the right side of Cihampelas street, after the crowded jeans factory outlets, near the Pasupati flyover.

Braga Street

Braga Street or Jalan Braga is a small street in the center of Bandung, which was famous in the 1920s as a promenade street. Chic cafes, boutiques and restaurants with European ambiance along the street had made the city to attain the Paris of Java nickname. The street starts from a T-junction with the Asia-Afrika (or De Groote Postweg during the colonial time) to the north until the city council (balaikota), which was formerly a coffee warehouse.

Gedung Sate

Gedung Sate is a public building in Bandung. It was designed by Dutch architect J. Gerber to be the seat of the Dutch East Indies department of Transport, Public Works & Water Management; the building was completed in 1920. Today, the building serves as the seat of the governor of the province of West Java. Its common name, Gedung sate, is a nickname that translates literally from Indonesian to ‘satay building’, which is a reference to the shape of the building’s central pinnacle – which resemble the shape of one of the Indonesian traditional dish called satay.

Alun-Alun Bandung

Alun-alun Bandung or city square of Bandung. Alun-alun is the classical central core of the democratic city in Indonesia, since the 15th century. It is typically a square of grass field with 4 sides are the city major residence, pendopo (a place to meet between citizens and the government), a mosque and a prison. In Alun-alun Bandung, The Grand Mosque is still visible, though it has been renovated 7 times. Now, it has undergone a major renovation and expansion with two 81 m high minarets and a Taj Mahal interior design. The Pendopo is also still there, behind a high wall. The prison has been transformed into a mall with one block is preserved as a museum, a cell block where Soekarno, the first president of Indonesia, spent some time in there. The major transition is that now alun-alun serves as an entertainment park, where shopping mall buildings are surrounding the square.

Museum of The Asian-African Conference / Gedung Merdeka

The museum, also known as Gedung Merdeka (“Independence Building”), was built in 1879 by Dutch architects, Van Galen and Wolff Schoemaker, and was named Societeit Concodia. The Dutch used this building as a function building, which was the best they had those days in Bandung.
After Indonesia gained its independence, the country held the so-called Asia-Africa Conference in this building froms 18 to 24 April 1955 where twenty nine countries from Asia and Africa were present. The building was officially turned into a museum in 1980.

Bandung Geological Museum

First established on 16 May 1929 by a Dutch administrator, the museum was renovated with financial help from Japan International Cooperation Agency and reopened on 23 August 2000.
The museum has hundreds of thousands of artifacts and fossils, as well as tens of thousands of mineral deposits, rocks and so on that were collected in Indonesia since 1850, as well as objects from overseas. From all collections that they have, the museum only displays 10% of them and they keep the rest of the collections in the “Documentation Room”. There is a library, which is located next to the museum that gives you more information about geology. However, their books are not for loan (in-house photocopy is allowed).

Indonesia Postal Museum

The museum is located in the same block as Gedung Sate and the building itself was completed in 1920, then turned into a museum named Museum Post Telegraph and Telephones, in 1931. The government of Indonesia changed the name to Museum Pos dan Giro (Postal Museum) in 1983 and later changed the name to Museum Pos Indonesia (Indonesia Postal Museum) in 1995.

Museum Sri Baduga Jawa Barat

Museum Sri Baduga is one of the more recently built museums in Bandung, constructed in 1974, and was inaugurated by the Indonesian minister of education on 5 June 1980. The name of Sri Baduga is taken from a former Sundanese king from the 15th century. Currently the museum runs an enhancement program, aiming for a full completion in 2013. It has more than 6,600 items, mostly about Sundanese culture, history and some Chinese artifacts that were found in West Java. The museum also displays replicas of Sundanese traditional musical instruments, housing, transportation, statues, and even weaponry.

Tebing Keraton – Juanda Forest Park (Tahura Juanda)

Tebing Keraton or Keraton cliff is located in Ir. H. Juanda Forest Park, Bandung, or well-known as TAHURA (Taman Hutan Raya). It is a conservation area that combines the secondary nature and pine (Pinus Merkusil) forest that is located in the sub-watershed Cikapundung, Citarum, West Java. If you are on top of the cliff, you can see the green scenery of the Forest Park.
